Christina María Aguilera (18 de diciembre de 1980) es una cantautora y productora estadounidense de raíces irlandesas y ecuatorianas y actual exponente de la música pop y R&B. Sus habilidades vocales son comparadas con las de Mariah Carey y Whitney Houston, ha colocado cuatro singles en el No. 1 del Billboard Hot 100; ha ganado cuatro premios Grammy[1] y recibido dieciocho nominaciones y 1 Grammy Latino. Con tres álbumes de estudio en inglés, uno en español y una recopilación navideña ha logrado vender más de 40 millones[2] [3] de discos en todo el mundo, siendo una de las artistas más exitosas de la última década[4] .

Obtuvo un contrato con RCA después de la grabación de la canción Reflection para la película Mulán de Disney[5] [6] , y se lanzó su álbum debut Christina Aguilera (1999), convirtiéndose en un éxito comercial[7] .

Después de terminar con su anterior manager, Aguilera tomó el control creativo sobre su segundo álbum de estudio Stripped (2002)[8] , obteniendo críticas mixtas y ventas substanciales. La imagen abiertamente sexual de Aguilera mostrado durante la promoción del álbum se convirtió en tema de intensa crítica. El segundo single, Beautiful, fue todo un éxito comercial y sostuvo las ventas del álbum.
